Program Coordinator

The Prevention of Family Violence Association is a community agency focused on providing education, support, and prevention strategies for individuals, families and communities to encourage healthy choices, reducing the impact of family violence.

The Coordinator will have a main focus of providing educational workshops to the community

Hours of work:  This is a full-time position (30 hrs per week). Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Duties:
• Organize and deliver education programs/ workshops to the community in regards to family violence prevention
• Organize community awareness events in regards to bullying and family violence
• Provide referral services to clients
• Research  and apply for further funding
• Perform  bookkeeping duties ( Treasurer duties as required)
• Perform  secretary duties at monthly board meetings when required
• Provide monthly reports to the Board
• Provide individual/client  reports to referring Agencies as required
• Provide one-to-one education on Family Violence Prevention as required

Qualifications/Assets:
• Related post-secondary education or work experience
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of word processing programs
• Experience in handling sensitive and/or confidential information
• Experience with the grant application process
• Demonstrated organizational and self-motivation skills
• Demonstrated strength in interpersonal and communication skills
